Every year Apple launches on the market a new version of its best seller mobile phone and on the other side we have many companies that try to contrast Cupertino supremacy with their Android-equipped models (mainly Motorola and Samsung)
First of all users has to understand which requirements must be satisfied in order to make a good choice. Android phones has a very large range of models and prices: base, medium, high level. Prices of top versions are more or less equal to iPhone 4S. Taking an overview on them we see that the Nexus has the best touchscreen display: 4.65” and a 1280×720 resolution. The Razr is a bit smaller, 4,3” with a 960×540 resolution and Iphone’s screen is even smaller with a 3,5” Retina LED with a 960×640 resolution: but however it has a better image quality than Motorola’s one.
Iphone and Motorola are equipped with an 8 Megapixel camera while Nexus has a 5 Megapixel one.
Iphone processor s the A5 800 MHz dual core which is less powerful than Motorola and Samsung ones, both dual core with 1,2 GHz clock. Iphone comes with a 512 MB RAM while competitors CPUs can count on a solid 1 GB RAM but we’ve to consider that Android system requires more resources than Ios 5.
Storage: 16,32, 64 on the Iphone (not expandable), 32 GB not expandable for Nexus and 16 GB (expandable to 32 GB with MicroSD) on the Razr.
Low budget Android smartphones are a good solution for those who can’t or don’t want to spend a considerable amount of money to buy a new device and a good way to get used to this new device have an easier choice because the price tag is fixed and there are only small variations depending on storage dimension.
General users are often not aware of potentialities that smartphones have and many times they don’t take notice of opportunities like linked “ecosystems” – Apple iOS 5, App Store + iCloud or Google Android and Android Market on the other side.
Generally speaking we’ve to make a reflection before buying any smartphone: we must think what we need. We see every day millions of users with their expensive and powerful mobile devices using them at only a 10 per cent of what they really can do. Why? For Apple devices mainly because it’s hip.
